Merlot ranks no three in global production volumes of red wine.   It is versatile and used extensively in blends where its softer characteristics enhance the higher tannin varieties. Our merlot is a true example of this versatility and we use the grapes to also make a Blanc de Noir, a MCC and a sweet wine. In addition we use it in our blends as well. The Merlot Reserve is barrel matured for an extra year to develop the acidity and produce a more full bodied wines with a moderate alcohol level.
